During this year's Valentine's Day parties, many of the classes worked on service projects to give back to the community with extra love. Our third, fourth, and fifth graders put together reading care packages for nonprofit organization, Hearth, located in Shaler township. Each student donated items from Hearth's "Wish List" which included healthy snack foods and apartment supplies. The students designed and laminated bookmarks that were inserted inside a book and packaged with a snack to be put in common areas at Hearth. Preschool made "paper hugs" to accompany food pantry boxes at the West View Hub - our Preschool/Pre-K programs have an ongoing relationship with the HUB to provide artwork throughout the year for their food pantry boxes. Eighth grade made 7 comforting blankets for Project Linus and seventh grade crafted Valentine cards for residents at Northland Heights Senior Living.
